Markowski (Tackett), Evelyn E.
Of Mirror Lake, passed away suddenly on Saturday, December 31, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her husband, Jan; one son, Bill (Corinne) Schlueter; step-daughter, Carrie (Shayne) Allen; grandchildren, Sara Schlueter, Cole (Brittney Jones) Weirich, Jarett Weirich, Caitlyn Briggs, Bryce Allen, Zoey Allen, and Addison Allen; siblings, Wallace (Norma) Tackett, LaDonna (Joe) Call, and Vicki (Hugo) Borja; and several nieces, nephews, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Gladys Tackett and siblings, Dean, Darryl, Merle Tackett, and Sue Benner.
Evelyn most recently served as Assessor at Blackman Charter Township and formerly Assessor at Columbia, Somerset, and Bedford Township. She was past president of the Michigan Assessors Association and longtime education chair person. She was the longtime treasurer of the Jackson Legacy Foundation of Jackson County. Evelyn enjoyed golfing, pontoon rides on "Pats Dream" on Mirror Lake, and being with her family and friends.
A luncheon to honor Evelyn Markowski's life will be held at 1:00 PM at the Banquet Room at the Clark Lake Golf Course, 5535 Wesch Road, Brooklyn, MI 49230 on Sunday, May 7, 2023 at 1:00 PM. A Celebration of her life begins after the luncheon. For those planning on attending please contact Bill Schlueter at 517 366-9201 or Jan Markowski at 517 529-7128.
Instead of sending flowers, contributions to the Cascades Humane Society or the St. Rita Parish Building Fund at Clark Lake would be appreciated.
