of Kalamazoo, formerly of Jackson, passed away at home under the loving care of her family on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at the age of 84 years. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Jack E. Lounsbery; one daughter, Denise L. (Wayne) Sharp; one son, Dean C. (Lisa) Lounsbery. She was preceded in death by two sons, Daniel M. and Douglas J. Lounsbery. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Dean Jr. and Stephanie Lounsbery, James and Nathan Sharp; two brothers, Bob (Barb) Keyes, Ronald (Rosie) Keyes; numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. She was also preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.

Evelyn received her Bachelors of Arts in Education from Eastern Michigan University after attending Jackson Community College for two years on a scholarship and also graduated from Jackson High School. Evelyn was born and raised in Jackson, MI. After graduating from college she lived and taught high school in Marshall, Michigan. She also taught at Burger Junior High in Garden City. Evelyn married Jack Lounsbery in 1954 and with him and her four children led a very full and active life in Garden City and Livonia, Michigan, Denver, Colorado, Cupertino, California, Nashville, Tennessee, and Kalamazoo, Michigan. She will be remembered for her love of family, kindness to all, and a great love for living life to the fullest.

Mrs. Lounsbery is at the Desnoyer Funeral Home where a Prayer Service will be held on Wednesday, October 8 at 10:00 AM followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church at 10:30 AM with Father Robert Consani as the celebrant. Interment will follow at St. John's Catholic Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4–7 PM with a Rosary Service at 6:00 PM.
