Rohlin (Corridon), Evelyn
Age 95. She passed comfortably at home on Nov. 1, 2015. Born Oct. 1, 1920 to Frank J. Corridon (baseball great) and Adeline Sullivan (both of Newport, R.I.) in Syracuse, N.Y. She was the youngest of five daughters all of which preceded her: Adelaide, Frances, Natalie and Geraldine.
She graduated from North High School in Syracuse. At 20, following the death of her Father, she moved with her Mother and sisters to Washington, D.C. There she ran a wartime officers steno pool at the Navy Yard, and met her husband, John F. Rohlin, who precedes her along with her sons, John and Richard. Their children are: William, James, Marilyn, Francis, Joseph, Timothy, Christopher, Anne, Teresa, David, Michael and Robert; numerous grandchildren; and great grandchildren.
She was a loving mother and the glue that kept the family together. She gave her all. She was a devout Catholic. She moved with her family to Wapping, Connecticut and from there to Jackson, Michigan. A special thanks to her dedicated caregiver and friend Aimee Hampton.
Mrs. Rohlin is at the Desnoyer Funeral Home where a Prayer Service will be held on Friday, November 6 at 10:00 AM followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 10:30 AM with Fr. Chas Canoy and Deacon Mike McCormick officiating. Interment to follow at St. John's Catholic Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM with a Vigil Service at 6:00 PM.
