Baker, Eugenia L. "Gene"
87, passed away at Allegiance Health after a long illness on Tuesday, February 22, 2011. Preceding her in death was her first husband, Arnold Lee Corey Jr. in 1970 and daughter, Gwyn Hensley in 1989. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Harold L. Baker and two daughters; Linda Corey of Battle Creek, Donna (Chuck) Kirkham of Battle Creek, sons, Si (Karen) Corey of Battle Creek, Dudley (Charlene) Corey of Whitmore, California, Colen Corey of Chehalis, Washington; step sons, Harold Baker Jr. of Hillsdale and Gary Baker of Jackson. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren and several step grandchildren and great grandchildren. Eugenia "Gene" enjoyed working with numbers and held various accounting positions over the years in Jackson. She was a past member of the Women in Business organization. Her interests included traveling, gardening, raising raspberries and making jam for friends and grandchildren. She loved to play golf and participated in many leagues over the years. In accordance with her wishes her body has been cremated.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 28 at the Desnoyer Funeral Home at 11:00 AM with Pastor Dyke Cyphers officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 10–11 AM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army or to a charity of one's choice.
