Aged 91 years, passed from our presence into eternity on August 24, 2023. Esther was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Thomas; her parents, Herbert and Lila Benson; and siblings, George, Rachel, Mary, Martha, and Harriet. She is survived by her children, Dawn (John) Burke, Timothy (Naomi) Horrigan, Bridget Horrigan, Patrick (YongI) Horrigan, Kevin Horrigan, and Mary (Michael Cimino) Horrigan; 14 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson; and brother, William Benson.

A child of the great depression, she enjoyed a life of simple pleasures and lived her faith by the tenets of humility, charity, and the preservation of dignity of all creatures great and small.

To know her is to have known a best friend. We will miss you, Mom. We will miss our best friend.

According to her wishes, cremation has taken place. A Rosary Service will be held on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at 10:15 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at10:30 AM with Father Robert Pienta officiating.

Instead of sending flowers, contributions to the Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice Home would be appreciated.
