Williams, Emma Jean "E.J."
Of Jackson, passed away under the loving care of her family and the staff at the Jackson County Medical Care Facility on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at the age of 85. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Leslie; three children, Jan (Steve) Krzesicki, Bruce (Kathleen McLaughlin) Williams, David (Michelle) Williams; four grandchildren, Nathan and Jacob Krzesicki and Lauren and Jason Williams; numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her brothers and sisters; Fred, Doris, Shirley, Gordon, and Richard.
She graduated from High School in Traverse City, Michigan and then went on to Butterworth Hospital and Wayne State where she received her Registered Nursing Degree. E.J. was a member of P.E.O., Chapter DM, and the First United Methodist Church where she started the Tele-Care and Friends in Deed organizations. She also participated in quilt making with the Mary Martha Quilters. She was employed as a registered nurse in the Jackson area for local doctors. When her children where born, she dedicated her life to her husband and children. One of the highlights was when E.J. was a page for her P.E.O. sister, Judy Wilson, at the 1991 State Convention.
Services will be held at the First United Methodist Church on Saturday, June 27, at 12 Noon with Rev. Edward Ross officiating. Private interment at Maple Grove Cemetery in Elk Rapids, Michigan.
The family will receive friends at the Church on Friday from 6-8 PM and on Saturday from 11:00 AM to 12 Noon.
