ARNOLD, ELIZABETH M., (Mimi) 90, of Jackson Michigan, passed away peacefully, on Friday February 19th, 2010 at Allegiance Hospital under the compassionate care of the Allegiance staff, Allegiance Hospice and her loving family. Elizabeth was born December 13, 1919 in Detroit Michigan to Alfred and Mable Asselin. On May 9, 1943, she was married to her high school sweetheart, Willard E. Arnold, and he preceded her in death on November 6th 1986. They lived in Ann Arbor Michigan for many years before retiring, then wintered in Marathon Florida and resided in Jackson Michigan in the summers. Elizabeth had been a member of The Lady's of the Amaranth Club since 1989, a member of Queen of the Miraculous Medal Church for over 25 years; She was granted lifetime membership to The Seventh Armored Division Association, and was a Registered Nurse for over 70 years. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by both of her parents, and her older brother Alfred Asselin of Ft. Lauderdale Florida. She is survived by one sister, Virginia Craig, also of Jackson Michigan. She is also survived by 5 children; Judith Sharp, of Hanover Twp. Michigan, Bill (Ann) Arnold of Rives Junction Michigan, Nancy (Mark) Paola of Jackson Michigan, David (Coleen) Arnold of Gregory Michigan, and Mary Varvatos of New Canaan Connecticut . Also surviving are 15 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Elizabeth's passion was her beloved family, and the ability to care for others. A celebration of her amazing life through the Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at 10:30 AM. The Rev. Jeff Poll officiating. Private Interment in Ann Arbor Michigan at St. Thomas Cemetery.
