Lefere (Solon), Elizabeth "Betty"
Of Jackson, passed away at home on Friday, August 17, 2018 at the age of 95, surrounded by her family. She is survived by her six children, Patricia (Patrick) McCann, Peggy (Carlos) Febres-Cordero, Betsy (Tom) Sykes, Katie Powers, Alidor "Dorne" (Ginny) Lefere III, Austin Lefere; 21 grandchildren, Patrick III, Katie (Tim), Kelli (Nate), Carlos (Tatiana), Juan (Ariane), Diego (Heather), Elisabeth, Cristina (Giannis), Maria Margarita, Jennifer (Bobby), Jessica (Hank), Brian (Erin), Jeremy (Chrissy), Bob (Vicky), Michael (Amber), Scott (Kelly), Alidor IV, Kevin (Camille), Kristin (Pete), Heidi (Andrea) and Nicole (Brian); 47 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Helene (Jon) Hansen and Carlene Lefere; numerous nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Alidor; one grandson, Marc Alidor McCann; one son-in-law, Bob Powers; one grandson-in-law, Chuck Gould; two sisters, Patricia Clarke and Jeanne Mead, and one brother, Bernard Solon.
Betty was a homemaker and a devoted and loving wife, mom, grandma and great-grandma. She was a graduate of St. Mary High School and attended Mount Saint Joseph University in Cincinnati, Ohio. Betty was a longtime member of Queen of the Miraculous Medal Church. She was a devout Catholic who prayed the rosary and attended Mass daily.
The family would like to thank Henry Ford Allegiance Home Health Care and Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice for their dedicated, compassionate care.
Mrs. Lefere is at the Desnoyer Funeral Home where a Prayer Service will be held on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at 12:30 PM followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 PM at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church. Fr. Timothy MacDonald will be the Celebrant. Interment will take place at St. John's Catholic Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, August 20 from 3:00 to 8:00 PM with a Rosary Service at 7:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Juvenile Diabetes Association, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
