Eleanor Jean Rooney

of Jackson, passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at the age of 87 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo; son, Michael; brother, Robert; sister-in-law, Shirley; great grandson, Xavier Austin; sisters-in-law, Theresa and Janet; brothers-in-law, Harold "Kouch", Harold and William. She is survived by her daughter, Colleen; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Mary Ellen, Mary "Betty" and MaryAnn; brothers-in-law, Tom and Joe and many friends at Maple Ridge West. Eleanor was a member of St. Mary Church choir for 25 years, including their recent trip to Rome. She was also retired from Camp International after 20 years of service.

According to her wishes, Eleanor has been cremated. The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Friday, March 28 from 5–8 PM with a Scripture Service at

6:00 PM. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, March 29 at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church at 12:00 Noon with Father Tim Nelson as the celebrant.
