of Jackson, passed away on Wednesday, February 3rd 2010 at the age of 79 years, at the Jackson County Medical Care Facility under the loving care of her family and staff, after battling cancer for 4 yrs. Eleanor was the youngest of three children, Robert (Willie) Embury and Mary (Donald ) Parsons. Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Jones, both parents, Milburn Embury and Mary (Culhane) Kniss, and her brother, Robert Embury. Eleanor is survived by her daughters Darlene (Gary) Harrington, Susan (Michael) Hassett, and Donna (Chet) Thornton; her son, Donald J. Jones; her grandchildren, Nicole (Dwight) Arsenaux, Bryan (Cathryn) Hassett, Martin Hassett, Brent (Stacy) Thornton, Stacy Lee Thornton, Danielle R. Jones and Donald J. Jones II; her great grandchildren, Katie and Elizabeth Arsenaux and Henry Hassett; her very special friend, a yorkie named Creek that never left her side; several nieces and nephews. Eleanor graduated from Chelsea High School in 1948. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed crafts, bingos and traveling to Arizona, and New Orleans, where some of her family lives. She will be sadly missed by her family and others. Eleanor is at the Desnoyer Funeral Home where services will be held on Monday at 1:00 PM. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery. The Reverend Randy Miller officiating.

The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Sunday from 6–8 PM. A Rosary Service will be held at the funeral home on Sunday at 7:00 PM.
