Kindschy (Farrand), Eileen
Of Jackson, passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2025 at the age of 73 years. Eileen was Michigan through and through. She was born on December 4, 1951 and raised in Jackson, she spent nearly her entire life in the mitten state. After graduating from Lumen Christi High School, she attended Michigan State University, where she not only earned her B.A. in 1974 but also met the love of her life, Scott Kindschy. They married in 1977 and went on to share 48 years of love, laughter, and partnership.
Following her time at MSU, Eileen continued her education at Wayne State University, earning her J.D. in 1979. Her career was as colorful and varied as she was: from part-time clown, to teacher of both Red Wings goalies and wayward students, to bank teller (robbed on her very first day), to pioneering insurance lawyer. Eileen was never afraid to take on a challenge, forge a new path, or break down barriers.
Ultimately, her proudest role was being a mom. She stepped away from her career to dedicate herself fully to raising her two children, Jake and Liz. At home, she was happiest curled up with a Georgette Heyer novel, a beloved cat—or more recently her favorite dog, Doggen—and a cozy nook.
Eileen is survived by her husband Scott; her children, Liz and Jake; her granddaughter, Laurel; her daughter-in-law, Kat; her brother, David; and her sisters, Sue and Nancy; in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.
According to her wishes, cremation has taken place.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association at alz.org.
