Passed away peacefully April 12, 2022 at the age of 89 at Vista Grande Villa, Jackson, Michigan.

Born in Jackson in 1932, preceded in death by his mother (Rose) and father (Harry) he graduated in 1950 from Jackson High School. His early work life started at Kelsey Hayes and a local hardware store, later to join with the Laborer's Union until retirement from Dunigan Brother's Construction Company in 1985. He was married to Patricia Karasek VanDam for 55 years and they raised 9 children while also renovating several homes in Jackson.

Relocating to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida in 1993 during retirement until 2013. He returned to Jackson as a resident at Vista Grande Villa where he was known to foster endearing friendships and spent most of his leisure time walking the hallways and grounds or collaborating on puzzles.

Preceded in death by his wife, son Eric and daughter Sheila as well as his sisters Margie, Harriet, Rose and Helen and brother William. Survived by his sons Harold (Linda), Daniel, Terrence (Stacey), Joseph (Nancy), Edward (Kathleen) and William and daughter Kristen (Joseph).

Edward was a quiet and humble man, preferring no services of remembrance. He is grateful to the diligent care at Vista Grande Villa for the past 9 years and special gratitude to Elara Care Services.
