Of Jackson, passed away on Monday, December 19, 2016 at the age of 87 years. Survived by his four children, Christine (James) Armstrong, Gail Wright, Edward Joseph Jr., and Tommy; grandchildren, Crystal, Coral, Angie, Amanda, Andrea, Edward, Ashley, Tony, Tabitha, and T.J.; 18 great grandchildren; sister, Frances Laskovich; and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his wife, Gladys; brother, Robert; and sister, Genevieve Owen.

Edward was born to Anastasia and Joseph Papiersky on June 12, 1929. He was proud of his Polish heritage. In 1948 he graduated from St. John's School. He proudly served in the United States Army for 2 years during the Korean Conflict. Edward retired from Walker Manufacturing in 1991 after 43 years of service. He was a member of St. Joseph Church, where he ushered and helped in the bingo hall. Edward was a member of the Moose Lodge #156 and was an avid Detroit Tigers and U of M fan.

Burial has taken place at St. John's Catholic Cemetery. A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, December 23 at 1:00 PM at the Desnoyer Funeral Home with Fr. Robert Pienta officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 11:00 to 1:00 PM.
