Ed graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1961, where he excelled in all sports. He attended Jackson Junior College and Spring Arbor University. He spent his career in human resources management. Ed was a proud veteran, having served in the Army Reserves for six years.

Ed deeply loved his God and his family and was blessed with many dear friends. He was an avid golfer, and was a member of the Independent Golf League for over 40 years and more recently, the Twilighters Golf League. He enjoyed all sports and was saddened when he could no longer participate and could only watch. He was a dedicated Michigan State fan. Ed was also very proud of his Irish heritage and was known for his quick wit and wonderful sense of humor.

Ed is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Barbara (Bell); his two daughters and their spouses, Michelle (Jeff) Korb, and Kerrie (Kirk) Manders; four grandchildren, Lindsey and Allison Korb and Delaney and Garrett Manders, who were his pride and joy. Ed is also survived by his sister, Mary Kay Kastens, his sister-in-law, Nancy (Gary) Siegrist; several nieces and nephews, and many devoted friends. Ed was predeceased by his parents, and his sister, Helen Gallagher.

According to his wishes, cremation has taken place. Ed was a faithful parishioner of Queen of the Miraculous Medal Parish, where the Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 21, 2022 at 11:00 AM with Father Timothy MacDonald officiating.
