Fisher, Edward A. "Bulldog"
age 81, of Jackson, went into the loving arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, early Sunday morning September 27, 2015 at Allegiance Health. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Doris E. Fisher (Smith); step-daughters, Carolyn Gyurkovitz of Bullhead City, Arizona, and Lindy L. Wilson, of Jackson; sons, Terry (Ellen) Fisher of Jackson and Tony (Kelly) Fisher of Jackson; 9 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren. Ed was preceded in death by his mother, father and sister, Lois as well as a grandson.
He was born Andrew Edward Wright on November 16, 1933 in Monroe, Michigan to Beulah A. Wright (Cousino) and Andrew Wright. Beulah's second husband, Claire L. Fisher adopted Ed and his sisters, Lois Shadbolt, and Erma Egger. Ed proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict from 1951 to 1955 aboard the USS Alcor-AK259. Ed and Doris started ServiceMaster of Jackson in 1967 and retired in 2005. During their ownership they achieved ServiceMaster's highest honor: The Marion E. Ward, Master award. as the pickle salesman. Ed was also very proud of his perfect attendance of 40 years for the Rotary Club of Jackson where he also served as president from 1995 to 1996. Ed was a stranger to no one and will be deeply missed.
Per Ed's wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will be held at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Saturday, October 3 at 3:00 PM with Reverend Ed Ross officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 2-3 PM.
