of Jackson, passed away on Monday, March 21, 2016 at the age of 89 years. She is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Harold L. Nichols; her parents, William and Julia (McDonough) Dillon; two brothers, Robert Dillon and Howard Dillon, one sister, Joan Bennett. She is survived by three children, Connie (Joseph) O'Connor of Windsor, CA, William (Darlene Manns) Nichols of Jackson and Julie Ann (Robert) Tillman of Mattawan, MI; 12 grandchildren, Chris O'Connor, Harlingen, TX; Colleen O'Connor-Coleman, Springfield, OR; Nickie Wilkinson, Rives Junction, MI; Tammy Lynn Eggleston, Decatur, MI; Joseph R. O'Connor, Omaha, NE; Jamie Nichols, Jerome, MI; Katie O'Connor-Alconcel, Windsor, CA; Bill Nichols, Charlotte, NC; Dan Whiting, Portage, MI; Tim Nichols, Jackson, MI; Tammy Tillman, Mattawan, MI; Austin Tillman, Sr., Mattawan, MI. 21 great-grandchildren, one brother, James (Catherine) Dillon, three sisters-in-law, Phyllis Dillon, Phyllis Wheeler, Madonna (Donald) Donner; special friends, Kathy Fiero and Brenda Jennings.

Dorothy was a lifelong member of St. John the Evangelist Parish. She graduated from St. John School in 1944. She volunteered in the Parish Library for 28 years.

Mrs. Nichols is at the Desnoyer Funeral Home where a Prayer Service will be held on Monday, March 28 at 10:30 AM followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church at 11:00 AM with Father James Shaver as the celebrant. Interment will take place at St. John's Catholic Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Sunday, March 27 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM with a Scripture Service at 6:00 PM.
