Miller, Dorcas V.
of Jackson, passed away peacefully at her home with family by her side on Monday, May 13, 2019 at the age of 99. She is survived by her three children, Phil (Sandy) Miller, Mary Pat (Herb) Brogan and Mardi (Dave) Panici; 11 grandchildren, Andrew Miller, Patrick (Erin) Miller, Christopher (Angie) Miller, Nicholas (Lindsey) Miller, KC (Justin) Brietzke, Megan (Mike) O'Toole, Sean (Sarah) Brogan, Shane (Colleen) Brogan, Patrick Brogan, Leah (Eric) Wendling, Tony (Colleen) Panici and 22 great grand children.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Emmanuel G. Miller.
Dorcas was a graduate of Saint Mary's College in South Bend, Indiana and furthered her education at Mercy Hospital in Jackson, obtaining an RN Nursing degree.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grand mother and great grand mother to her entire family. She was a long time member of Queen's Parish and member of various organizations and charities through the years.
The family wishes to extend a warm and heartfelt thank you to all of her caregivers who made her final years so special. Especially, Wilma Kilpatrick, Kim Walker, Lola Briston, Nancy Smith, Dorinda Cox and Linda Worthy. And a special thank you to Residential Hospice and Bright Star Care Home Care.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, May 16 at 11:00 AM at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church with Father Timothy MacDonald as the Celebrant. Interment will be at St. John's Catholic Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 15 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM with a Rosary Service at 7:00 PM. Visitation will also be on Thursday at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Church from 10:30-11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lumen Christi Catholic High School, Queen of the Miraculous Medal Parish or Cascades Humane Society.
