Of Jackson, Michigan received his Heavenly Reward on February 1, 2025 at the age of 91.

Donque was born on January 17, 1934 in Winchester, Arkansas to his parents, Charley and Levelle Ellis. He attended school in Pine Bluff, Arkansas and after moving to Lansing, Michigan with his family graduated from J.W. Sexton High School. He attended Central Michigan University and received a Bachelor's Degree in education and Michigan State University for a Master's Degree in education.

Donque was an Educator, employed by Jackson School District for 37 years where he held positions of Teacher, Assistant Administrator and Principal.

He leaves to mourn him his loving wife of 68 years Patsy Ann; sons, Ricardo Ellis of Lansing, Michigan, Kim Ellis of Aurora, Colorado; and Don Ellis Jr. of Jackson, Michigan; grand-children; great-grandchildren; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Donque was preceded in death by his parents, Charley and Levelle Ellis; sisters, Pearline Stoudamire, Mara Johnson, Relevah Bryant and Eddie Dixon; and brothers Floyd Ellis and Charley Ellis Jr.

Funeral Services for Mr. Ellis will be held at 12:00 Noon on Friday, February 14, 2025 at the Church of God, 140 W. South Street, Jackson with Pastor Lee Hampton officiating.  Entombment will follow at Roseland Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Thursday, February 13 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.  The family will also receive friends at the Church of God on Friday from 11:00 AM until 12:00 Noon.
