TALLMAN, DONALD R.

Of Jackson, passed away after a short illness at RidgeCrest Health Campus with his loving family by his side at the age of 89. He is preceded in death by his wife; Marilyn, sister; Joan Malewitz, and sister-in-law; Shirley Tallman. Donald is survived by three daughters: Christine (Wyman) Godfrey; Trish (Richard) Allen; Katie (Michael) Benn; six grandchildren: Dr. Bree (Matt) Holtz; Austen Benn; Wade (Stelie) Broesamle; Amy (Ron) Rivard; Amy Godfrey (Bill Bartlett); Bryan Godfrey; five great grandchildren: Penelope Marilyn Holtz; Olivia and Nathan Rivard; Kayla and Kaylee Broesamle; special friend and companion: Patricia McCollum; one brother: Jerry Tallman; brother-in-law: Frank Malewitz; and several nieces and nephews. Donald was an Army veteran of World War II and received the silver star. He was a graduate of St. Mary's high school in 1942 and was a longtime member of Queens' parish.

According to his wishes Don has donated his body to the University of Michigan Medical School. A memorial Mass will be held at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church Saturday, June 15, 2013 at 10 AM. Father Tim MacDonald will be officiating. The family will receive friends at the church at 9 AM until the time of the Mass.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Queen of Miraculous Medal Catholic Church "sound system fund" or the John George Home would be appreciated.
