Golm, Donald Edward
Of Jackson, passed away suddenly due to natural causes on Monday, April 8, 2024 at the age of 70 years. He is survived by his sister, Linda (Bob) Keifer; one niece; three nephews; three great-nieces; one great-nephew; and many good friends.
Donald was born in Ypsilanti, Michigan and as a young boy his family relocated to the Houghton Lake area. He graduated from Houghton Lake High School in 1971 and then attended Central Michigan University, graduating with a Bachelors Degree in Accounting.
Donald started in October of 1976 and retired in June of 2011 in the Consumers Energy Corporate Accounting Department, where he was a hard working, very dedicated employee. He mentored younger employees and was very respected for assisting and supporting financial information utilized in the company's regulatory filings, including providing expert witness testimony. Donald was an avid sports fan, enjoying many years as a season ticket holder for the Detroit Lions, but his primary focus was his Central Michigan University Chippewas. He was a member of the Third Degree Knight of Columbus Queens Council 609.
Donald was an active and faithful member of Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church where the Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, April 26, 2024 at 1:00 PM with Father Timothy MacDonald officiating. According to his wishes, cremation has taken place and an inurnment will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until 1:00 PM.
