Girodat Sr., Donald F.

of Jackson, formerly of Detroit, passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2019 at the age of 88 years. He is survived by five children, Don (Sandy), Mark (MaryLyn), Steve (Annette), Rick (Cammie), and Michelle (Joe) Mattina; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; sister, Susan (Mike) Buese; sister-in-law, Carol Girodat; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Olga "Rickie" Girodat and brother, David Girodat.

Donald was a United States Air Force Veteran. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, jeopardy, golfing, and aviation but most importantly he loved his family, especially his grandchildren.

According to his wishes, Mr. Girodat has been cremated. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 23, 2019 at 11:30 AM at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church. Father Timothy MacDonald will be the celebrant at the Mass.

The family will receive friends at Queens Church on Friday from 10:30 to 11:30 AM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Jackson Food Pantry, 701 Greenwood Ave., Jackson, MI  49203 would be appreciated.
