Elinski, Donald A.
Age 80 of Jackson, passed away on Sunday March 31, 2019. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Marion; three children, Randy (Beth), Mike (Jenifer), and Donna (Todd) Long; eight grandchildren, Trevor (Emma), Meagan, Kristin, Katie, Eric, Adriane, Mark, and Mary; his two sisters, Jean Stevens and Lorraine (John) Mazur; and several nieces, cousins, and many many friends. In addition to his parents Anthony and Helen, Donald was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Rachel Marie Long and his brother in law, Michael Stevens.
Donald was a US Navy veteran, serving 1957-1961. He retired from the Aeroquip Corporation and National Science Foundation. Caring deeply about his family and Catholic faith, Donald was very active within Queen of the Miraculous Medal parish along with supporting the founding and advancement of Lumen Christi Catholic High School throughout several decades. Donald served as Grand Knight in the Knights of Columbus. He loved the lake, fishing, golf, travel, and breakfast with his Thursday Aeroquip friends. He was in charge of the fish fries at Queen's Parish for over ten years. Donald will be missed by all who knew him.
According to his wishes, cremation has taken place. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at Queen of Miraculous Medal Catholic Church at 10:30 AM with Fr. Timothy MacDonald officiating.
The family will receive friends at Queen's Church from 9:30 to 10:30 AM on Saturday.
Instead of sending flowers, contributions to Queen's Parish or to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
