She graduated from UCLA in 1956 and was married shortly thereafter, and they relocated for his military service. They moved to Barrington, Illinois for five years and then settled in Jackson where she lived for her remaining years.
She and Milton co-founded Zimmer Marble Company in 1975, and they sold the business and retired in 1999. The company continues successfully to this day. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Tuesday Musicale, PEO, Ella Sharpe Museum, Vista Grande Villa Chorus and various committees, and AAUW.
Diane was very bright and thoroughly enjoyed a spirited conversation about politics, sociological topics, and domestic and world news. She maintained close contact with all family members, never missing a birthday or milestone with cards and letters, and equally importantly cultivated and nurtured strong lasting friendships. She had the gift of intimacy.
Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to Tuesday Musicale Scholarships and the Sierra Club Foundation.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
