Formerly of Jackson, passed at her daughter's home on Monday, March 27, 2017 at the age of 93 years. She was born to Annabell and George Ackerman on May 10, 1923 in Jackson. She was preceded in death by her beloved husbands, Joseph Forner and Leo Chmielewski. She was also preceded in death by her three brothers and one sister. She leaves behind her four children, Sharon Forner Curry, Joan Forner (Richard) Chmielewski, Joseph (Tammy) Forner, and Loretta Forner (Richard) Osborn; 14 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; sister, Elberta Hessemer; sisters in law, Mary Lou Ackerman and Hedy Chmielewski; and several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
De Etta worked and retired from Walker Manufacturing. She also worked part time at Sears in Jackson. De Etta enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. She made many trips to Massachusetts, Tennessee, and Wisconsin, to see her children and great grandchildren and got to see every special event in their lives. She leaves many friends and family behind. We will miss her and Christmas will not be the same without mom's pumpkin pies.
She was a lifelong Catholic and a longtime member of both St. Joseph Catholic Church and St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 1 at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Brian Lenz officiating. Private interment will take place at St. John's Catholic Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Friday from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM with a Rosary Service at 6:00 PM. The family will also receive friends at the church on Saturday from 10:00 to 10:30 AM.
Instead of sending flowers, contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital would be appreciated.
