Turyan, David Paul

Age 67, passed away Saturday June 11, 2016, at Henry Ford Allegiance Health with his family at his side. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA and has been a resident of Pleasant Lake, MI for the past 28 years. David is survived by Becky, his loving wife of 44 years; his children Missy (True) Dwyer of Kalamazoo, and Dave (Shanna) Turyan of Jackson; his Mother in Law, Millie Pillar; his siblings John (Dorothy) Turyan, Sue (Chuck) Leja, Cathy (Michael, deceased) Lona, Robert (Paula) Turyan, Rick (Denise) Turyan, Betty (John) Chmara, Patty Jester, Debbie Redmond, Cindy Sebastian, and Mindy Barney; and his 4 grandchildren Maddie, Tori, Gracie, and David (aka George). He will be missed by many other relatives and friends.

David was employed in the forgings industry for many years, and was currently enjoying retirement while working alongside his wife as a substitute librarian for the Jackson District Library. David was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, traveling, and golfing. He was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Michigan State basketball, and U of M football. He will be greatly missed.

David's family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home located at 204 N. Blackstone, Jackson on Wednesday, June 15 from 3:00 to 8:00 PM with the praying of the rosary at 6:00 PM. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, June 16 at 10:00 AM followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 711 N. Francis, Jackson, MI 49201 with Fr. James Shaver officiating. No graveside service will follow.
