Passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 3, 2022 at the age of 54. He was born in Jackson, Michigan on November 22, 1967 to his mother, Catherine Rose Parkinson and father, George Duane Parkinson, who preceded him in death.

He is survived by his four siblings; brothers, Stephen Parkinson, Kenneth (Amy) Parkinson, Glenn (Patty) Parkinson; and sister, Leanne (Jeff) Jones; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He graduated from Northwest High School and was part of the class of 1986. He was an avid supporter of the Detroit Red Wings, University of Michigan Wolverines, NASCAR, and enjoyed fishing, hunting and golfing. He competed in the Special Olympics and won numerous medals in speed skating and weight lifting. David had a heart of gold and would give anyone the shirt off of his back and will be sadly missed by his family, friends and all who knew him. David's favorite phrase was "I'm doing it for Mom and Dad."

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 7, 2022 at 11:30 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Bob Pienta officiating.

The family will receive friends at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church on Friday from 10:30 to 11:30 AM. Private interment will take place at St. John's Catholic Cemetery.
