David Garcia Sr.

Of Jackson passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at the age of 75 years old. He was born in Raymondville, TX on July 19, 1950 to Leobardo and Maria Garcia. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Linda; son Lupe (Tamara) special to his heart and daughter in law Kayleena Brown. He is also survived by his siblings; Raul (Grace), Berta, Alice (Randy) Jones, Teresa (Hal) Blum, Maria (Mike) Santana), Baldomero (Renee), Eulalia (Tom) Blissick, Margarita (Steven) Berkemeier, Godson David Issa and numerous nieces and nephews. Beltran family: Brother in laws, Carlos (Deceased) Debbie, Tony (Shania), Ramon (Tressa), Joe (Tammy); Sisters in laws, Rosetta Stiles, Carmen Rigel, Laura Bruce and Sharon Pickford; Godsons Joe David and Robert Warner; Goddaughter Leah Lynn Beltran. He shared a special relationship with all of the nieces and nephews. He loved his grandchildren; Alyssa (Cody) Moggo, Ashley (Brian) Grady, Brittany (Tyler) Connelly, Angelo de Jesus (deceased), Ciara, David de Jesus, Lupe Jose Jr., Josie (Austin) and 15 great grandchildren, all very important in his life.

David attended St. Joseph School through the 8th grade, East Junior High for 9th grade and graduated from Jackson High School in 1969. He attended Jackson Community College and became an Electrical Contractor and was a Physical Plant Supervisor for the prison system in Adrian retiring from Parnall Correctional Facility in 2012.

David was a Black Belt in Karate and loved attending sporting events for all the grand and great grandchildren.

David was preceded in death by his parents Leobardo and Maria Garcia, father and mother in law Jose and Betty Beltran, brother Lupe, son David Garcia Jr. (2019), brother in law Carlos (2023) and sister Carmen (March 2026).

A special thank you to Fr. Tim Nelson for all the support to David; to grandson Lupe Joe for all the religious talks they had; to niece Jamie Wagner for all that you did for your uncle and a special thanks to Desnoyer Funeral Home, especially to Chris Desnoyer who is a good friend to our family.

According to David’s wishes cremation has taken place. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church, 608 N. Elm Street, Jackson, Michigan 49203 on Friday, May 22, 2026 at 10:30 AM.

The family will receive friends at the Church on Friday, May 22, 2026 from 9:30 to 10:30 AM.
