Of Jackson, passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at the age of 77 years. He was born in Jackson on October 2, 1939. Preceded in death by his parents, Russell E. and Ethel S. Barnes. Survived by his wife of 54 years, Janice Ann Barnes; 4 children, Michael Barnes of Jackson, Mark Barnes of Jackson, Julie Ann (Ron) Clark of Kalamazoo, and Amy Sue (Jared) Hopkins of Jackson; 7 grandchildren, Kate Barnes, Brooklyn Barnes, Justin Barnes, Hannah Barnes, Emerie Clark, Abby, and Isabelle.
David was a United States Army Reserve Veteran. He was employed for 44 years at the Jackson Citizen Patriot in the composing department. He was also a member of the Model A Club and St. Mary's Parish.
According to his wishes, cremation has taken place. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 25 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church with Fr. Richard Eberle O.S.F.S. officiating.
The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday from 9:00 to 10:00 AM.
Contributions to St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church would be appreciated.
