Whitman, Daniel Paul

63, of Leslie, Michigan, passed away on Friday, March 5, 2021 under the loving care of his family and the staff of the Hospice Home. Daniel is survived by the son he adored, Wesley; step-daughter, Autumn, step-grandchildren, Josephine and Marcus; the sister he cherished, Virginia (Ginny) Kotait; brothers, John, Dennis, and Peter; and sister, Denise Wood along with other family and friends that he held dear. He was preceded in death by his mother, Winifred (Winnie) Whitman; father, Leonard Whitman, and brother, Russell Whitman.

Dan was born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on November 14, 1957. He attended Stranahan High School in Fort Lauderdale. Afterwards he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. He proudly served with the USMC until he was honorably discharged. Dan was married to Sharon on January 13, 1995. They have one son, Wesley William Whitman. Daniel worked as a painter for Tingley's Painting of Jackson and owned Whitman Painting. He enjoyed hunting deer and turkey. He looked forward to going up north with his father-in-law for the opening of deer season each year. Dan loved his dogs. Each of them held a special place in his heart; Bubby, Ranger, Danny, Maverick, Jack, Dixie, and Xavier. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and especially, Wesley. Dan was involved with Wesley's education, sports, and religious upbringing. He was an involved parent. Wesley was the joy Daniel sought in life.

Daniel requested that no services be held. He has been cremated and a private ceremony will be held at a future date.

In lieu of sending flowers, memorial donations may be given to Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice. The family of Daniel Whitman wishes to thank Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice and their amazing Staff.
