Dr. Daniel Lee Sowers

Was born November 9, 1939. He died on Sunday, January 11, 2015. Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Leta Sowers; his brother, Walter E. Sowers; and his sister, Reta Wright. Dan leaves behind his wife of 51 years, Sharon; his children, Dawn (Jeff) Burris; Dr. Daniel L. Sowers Jr. (Lynne); and Camille Sowers; grandchildren, Carley Burris, Brett Burris, Julia Sowers, Catie Sowers, and Grant Soles.

He was very close to his in-laws, John and Barbara Myers, Father Tim Wrozek, Norris and Linda Hornbeck, Dick and Andrea Brietzke, Randy and Cindy Wrozek, Mark Wrozek, and Joe and Kimberly Pycz.

Dan was a U.S. Army Veteran. He was a chiropractor in Jackson for over 30 years. He was an avid sportsman and a proud observer of all his grandchildren's sports and school activities. His grandchildren were very special to him.

Dan was a life member of the Parma Outdoor Club and spent many hours participating in many of its activities. He also enjoyed traveling and visiting the casinos. He had several nieces and nephews and loved family gatherings. He also had many friends.

According to his wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Saturday, January 17 at 11:00 AM with Dan's brother-in-law, Father Tim Wrozek officiating.

The family will receive friends at St. Joseph's on Saturday from 9:30 to 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or St. Joseph Catholic Church would be appreciated.
