Lyons, Daniel "Danny"

Age 70, of Jackson (Farwell) passed away in the loving arms of his wife Tammy on Saturday, April 8, 2017. He is survived by four children, Jason, Bridget (Cedric), Dan (Heidi), and Jess; three step-children, Jennifer, Matthew, and Joshua; seven grandchildren, Courtney, Trent, Carson, Jarrett, Ariel, Kaleb, and Grayson; four siblings, L.B. (Kathy) Lyons, Patty (Dave) Johnson, Joe (Molly) Gentz, and Sue (Ralph) Mullins and many nieces and nephews. Danny was preceded in death by his father, Daniel J. Lyons; mother, Phyllis (Desnoyer) Gentz; brother, Mikey Gentz; and sister, Julie (Lyons) (Orval) Crouch.

He was a Vietnam Veteran and served as a Sergeant with the 75th Ranger Battalion (LRRP's) in the U.S. Army. After returning from Vietnam, he worked at Kelsey Hayes and retired from there. Through the years, he had various other jobs, and his last one being at the Clare County US Postal Service. He loved watching and participating in sports with family and friends. If you knew him you liked him and if you knew him well you loved him. He will be forever missed!

According to his wishes, cremation has taken place. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 5 at 12:00 Noon at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 711 Francis Street, Jackson, with Fr. Brian Lenz officiating. Luncheon to follow at St. John's Parish Center.
