Daniel Joseph Crowley Sr.
of Jackson, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 31, 2014 at the age of 79 years. He was born on February 9, 1935 in Jackson, Michigan. After graduating from St. John's Catholic School he served with the U.S. Navy from 1953 to 1955. He married the love of his life, Mary Alice Soltis in 1955 who then passed away in March, 1995. He served many positions for the City of Jackson Fire Department where he retired as Captain in 1985. He held many other positions in the city of Jackson and then moved down to Lakeworth, Florida for 10 years. Moving back to Jackson in 2006, he moved to the wonderful John George Assisted Living Home and resided there until his death.
Dan is survived by his 6 children, Darlene (Mike) Kohut, Lori (Brian) Lee, Dan Crowley Jr., Karen (Tim) Soltis, Kevin (Gina) Crowley, Mike Crowley; 12 grandchildren, Shaun, Jason, Kelsey, Austin, Brianne, Sarah, Tarah, Samantha, Ian, Emily, Ryan & Mary; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers & one sister.
According to his wishes, Mr. Crowley has been cremated. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, April 4 at 11:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Father Robert Pienta will be the celebrant at the Mass. Private interment will take place at St. John's Catholic Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at St. John Catholic Church, prior to the Mass, from 10–11 AM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to St. John Church or the John George Home would be appreciated.
