Courtney “Timmie” Wynne McAndrews joined the angels on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at the age of 82. She is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband of 62 years, Peter “Mick” McAndrews II; her children Julie Austin (Matt), Peter McAndrews III (Beth), and John McAndrews (Pam); six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Waynne Stimson.
Courtney graduated from St John’s High School in 1961. She helped Mick run Sunsations Tanning & Fitness Salon for 19 years. But her passion was genealogy. Prior to the internet she made many trips to Ft. Wayne and spent countless hours in cemeteries researching her lineage. She will be remembered for her love of games and days by the water. She and her husband spent many cherished winters in Fort Myers, Florida before buying their dream lake home on Clarklake in 2023. She was always up for a raft ride, especially if it included Bob Seger music and a pineapple upside-down drink. While Courtney was a great cook herself, she loved nothing more than sharing meals out with friends and family—the Hunt Club and Beach Bar won’t be the same without her.
Courtney’s real happy place, though, was around children. After dedicating her life to raising her own, she spent years spoiling her grandkids: making countless servings of “grama toast,” teaching them every game she knew, needle-pointing their bedroom décor, driving hundreds of miles to Kentucky and northern Michigan, and engaging with every social media post that contained a picture of her “angels.” Courtney also spent her empty-nesting years reading to third grade classes, volunteering at Allegiance Hospital, bowling in the local league, knitting with her Monday-night group, and playing poker with the girls.
Out of respect for Courtney’s disdain for cold weather and love for all things tropical, her family is forgoing a traditional funeral service this winter. Instead, they’ll celebrate her life exactly how she’d want: a party out on the lake when it’s sunny and 75°. In lieu of flowers or donations, please take your favorite person out to dinner, and if you feel so inclined, have a pineapple upside-down for Timmie.
