Hughes, Colonel Harry "C.H."
Of Jackson, born August 19, 1930, passed away on Monday, April 17, 2017. He leaves to mourn his wife, Mary; sister, Mary Ellen Stephens; daughters, Mary Sue Thome (Roger), Cheryl A. Sherwood (Kirk), and Lisa M. Kinney (Brian); two step-children, Roger D. VanOrder (Kim) and June Bagocius (Dennis); 19 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren and one on the way; 2 nephews and 1 niece. Surviving also are his first wife, Effie Hughes and daughter-in-law, Diane. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Anna Grace; wife Patricia Ann; sons Charles William "Bill" and David Samuel "Sam"; and brother-in-law, Tom Stephens.
C.H. retired from Dana Corp. and Meijer. He loved to hunt, fish and camp with his wife, family and friends, but his wife Mary was the catch of his life.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 21 at 11:00 AM at the Desnoyer Funeral Home with Fr. Brian Lenz officiating. Interment St. John's Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
Instead of sending flowers, contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital would be appreciated.
