Colleen was born on April 17, 1965 in Jackson, Michigan. She graduated from Lumen Christi High School where she was member of marching band. She received her BA Degree from Spring Arbor University where she received her teaching certificate. Colleen taught kindergarten for 32 years at Townsend Elementary School at Vandercook Lake where she was an outstanding teacher. In 2014 she received the "Outstanding Teacher of the Year Award" for Jackson County. Colleen dearly loved her kindergarten children and was a dedicated teacher. She had many friends and wonderful colleagues at Townsend Elementary School and loved them all. Her wonderful disposition and infectious laugh will never be forgotten. She was an incredible mother to her children, Conner and Gabi. They were the centerpiece of her life and she was an inspiration to her Mom and Dad, who she loved dearly. Colleen loved being out in nature and especially enjoyed her vacations to the beach in Pentwater, Michigan where she loved to watch the sunsets and then go for ice cream.
A special thanks to all the wonderful doctors and nurses at St. Joseph's Mercy Hospital who cared for her during her stay.
According to her wishes, cremation has taken place. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2020 at St. Rita Catholic Church, 10516 Hayes Road, Clark Lake, at 10:30 AM with Father James Shaver officiating. Interment will follow at South Jackson Community Church Cemetery.
