Albright, Clarence William "Bill"
Age 90, passed away under the loving care of Henry Ford Allegiance Hospice. Bill was born April 19, 1932 in Patton, Pennsylvania to Clarence and Carrie Albright. He grew up in Patton, and later graduated from Penn State University. He served as an officer in the Air Force stationed at Kinross Air Force Base in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, and later earned his MA and Phd from Michigan State University. He married Anne on August 31, 1957. He was married to Anne for 54 years, and together they had two sons, Michael Albright of Jackson, Michigan, and Matthew (Julie) Albright of Comstock Park, Michigan. He had two grandchildren, Katie of Auburn Hills, Michigan, and Andrew of Chicago, Illinois. Bill married Patricia Magley in 2013 until her passing in 2021. He is also survived by his brother Patrick (Etta) Albright of Cresson, Pennsylvania, sister Vicky (Paul) Baran of Ebensburgh, Pennsylvania, and sister-in-law Sue Macrellis of Jackson, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his sister Joanne Hoover and brothers-in-law Paul Hoover and Michael Macrellis. Bill is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Bill worked as an English professor at Jackson Community College. In his retirement, Bill enjoyed extensive travel, and time spent at the family cabin on Lake Leelanau that he and Anne established to spend quality time with their grandchildren, and entertain family and friends.
Per his request, cremation has taken place. A Military Service will be held on Friday, January 20, 2023 at 11:00 AM, followed by a Celebration of Bill's Life, at Cascades Manor, located at 1970 Kibby Road, Jackson, MI 49203.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Leelanau Conservancy (leelanauconservancy.org) or the Jackson County Animal Shelter (jacksoncountyanimalshelter.org).
In Bill's honor, enjoy a good book, some classical music, and a gin martini up with anchovy stuffed olives because, "It don't get no better than this!"
