Slaby, Chester R.

of Jackson, passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at the age of 88 years. He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Betty (Karazim) and his daughter, Marilyn Anderson. Survived by five children, Judith Booth, Sharon (Jake) Wojtusik, Shirley (Mark) Bordner, Frank Slaby (Karen Drushal), John (Karen) Slaby; son-in-law, James Anderson; 12 grandchildren, Sean, Ryan, Lisa, Jacob, Lauren, Jennifer, Jeffrey, Rebecca, Adam, Amanda, Bailey, and Adriann; eight great grandchildren, Andrew, Quinn, Michael, Peyton, Maxwell, Henry, Harsen, and Katherine. Also preceded in death by one sister, Genevieve and two brothers, Walter and Stanley.

Chester retired from Walker Manufacturing and served in the United States Army. He loved watching the stock market and enjoyed antique cars and playing poker. He was also a member of the PNA, lifetime member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church, and the 20/20 Club.

Mr. Slaby is at the Desnoyer Funeral Home where a Prayer Service will be held on Friday, August 12 at 9:30 AM followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church at 10:00 AM with Fr. Richard Eberle O.S.F.S. as the celebrant. Interment will take place at St. John's Catholic Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Thursday, August 11 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM with a Vigil Service at 6:00 PM.

The family suggests that, instead of sending flowers, please consider a memorial donation to St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church.
