Newton, Cheryl Ann

While holding hands with the love of her life and surrounded by her family, our angel Cheryl passed from this life to the next life with our Lord on Wednesday, December 20, 2023.  She was the daughter of Clarence and Peggy Gingras. She was born on March 8, 1950 in Adrian, Michigan, but lived her whole life in Jackson.

Cheryl is survived by her husband, Rick Newton; brother, Michael Gingras; children: Jennifer Walsh & husband William Walsh, Kristen Marsh & husband Barry Marsh, Brian Newton & wife Stacey Newton, Kathryn Reichhold & husband Chris Reichold; grandchildren: Walsh family: Lindsay, Billy, Jacob, Aidan, Kaitlyn, Faithlyn, Chase; Marsh family: Barry II, David, Collin, Renee, Nathaniel, Emily, Evan; Newton family: Spenser, Remy; Reichhold family: Emma, Lauren, Erin; and great grandson, Liam Walsh.

Cheryl made a many great life long friend every where she went.  Besides socializing with her friends, her favorite thing was traveling. She and Rick have visited 44 states, several places in Canada and 18 locations in the Caribbean.  Her favorite destination was Hawaii. She was especially excited when Rick asked her in January 2012 how would she like to celebrate her birthday on Waikiki Beach.

Cheryl was employed at L.H. Fields for about 10 years after she graduated in 1969 from Jackson High School and in 1978 joined Comerica Bank until she retired in November 2005.
