UTESS, CHARLES
Of Jackson, passed away on Friday, November 16, 2012 at the age of 87 years. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Dorothy L. Utess on November 6, 2012. Survived by three children, Louis C. (Mary Margaret) Utess, Kristine L. (Frank) Barger, Jim (Mary Anne) Utess; nine grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Charles was a US Army Air Corps Veteran of WWII. He retired as Deputy Warden for the State of Michigan Department of Corrections and also retired as Criminal Justice Instructor for both Lansing and Jackson Community Colleges. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially during the holidays and at Horsehead Lake.
The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Sunday from 2–4 and 6–8 PM. Funeral Services will take place at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Monday at 10:00 AM with the Reverend Doctor Larry Walters officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Lumen Christi High School, the American Heart Association of Michigan or the Jackson County Animal Shelter.
