Of Jackson passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 27, 2014 in the arms of his loving wife Betty. He will also be remembered by his daughters, Wendy (Michael) Solmonson and Lori (Hector) Ortiz, three grandchildren Phillip Creglow, Steven Sharp and Sarah Creglow, great granddaughter Madison, brother in law Gerald (Suzy) Carney, nephew Brian Carney as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was born on August 30, 1932 to Leo and Mary West who preceded him in death. After his mother signed permission for Charlie to join the United States Marine Corps, he proudly served his Country during the Korean War. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service, was a member of NARF, the American Legion Post #29 and St. John Catholic Church. Charlie loved his family very much, was an avid fan of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Detroit Tigers.

Mr. West is at the Desnoyer Funeral Home where a prayer service will be held Thursday, July 31st at 10:00 AM followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church at 10:30 AM. Interment St. John's Catholic Cemetery. Father James Shaver will officiate at the Funeral Mass.

The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM with a Rosary Service Wednesday at 6:30 PM.

Contributions to Bethany Hospice who provided such loving care for Charlie would be appreciated.
