BAUER, CATHERINE MARY "KATIE"
Age 95, of Jackson, passed away January 31, 2011.
Katie is survived by her daughter, Marcia (Ron) Kokoczka of Mesquite, NV, two sons: Phillip of San Francisco, CA , Larry (Cindy) of Jackson, two grandchildren:
Julie Kokoczka of Las Vegas, NV, Jason Kokoczka of Mesquite, NV and one great grandchild, Abigail Kokoczka of Nevada, five sisters: Margaret Topa of Jackson, Velma Heidenescher of Ann Arbor, Dorothy Breining of Saline, Mary Lou Gaul of Saline, Bea Noseck of Mendon Ohio and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Bauer in 1968, daughter, Sr. Mary Colleen Bauer, two sisters and two brothers.
She dedicated her life to God, Family and the Jackson Community. She owned Bauer Catering, retiring in 1981. Katie volunteered on many different fund raisers for the Mercy and Allegiance hospitals; was past Guild President of St. Mary's and Queen of The Miraculous medal churches; she started the annual Lumen Christi Rummage sale and worked tirelessly on subsequent sales; she loved and supported the Interfaith Shelter along with many other organizations. She was a member of Queen Of The Miraculous Medal Catholic Church where the Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, February 10th at 10:30 a.m., Father Mathias Thelen and Father Larry Delaney officiating. There will be no visitation prior to the service. Interment will be at St. John's Cemetery at a later date. There are many thank you's due for people who helped with Katie's care, but a special thank you goes to the staff at Heartland Hospice. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Heartland Hospice Memorial Fund or to the Jackson Interfaith Shelter.
