Of Jackson, passed away on Sunday, May 28, 2023 at the age of 87 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, and aunt. She is survived by her 5 children, Sue (Juris), Mike (Cherlyn), James Jr., Nancy, Tom (Betsy); 11 grandchildren, Kevin, Chad, Chelsea, Jason, Justin, Alyssha, Makoa, Kailee, Andy, Katie, and Sam; 12 great grandchildren, Olivia, Ben, Penelope, Rhys, Annabelle, Charlotte, Morgan, Selby, Addison, Braylon, Carter and Korianna; sister, Julia Worcester; brother, Everett (Lee) Worcester; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, James Arthur Hardwick Sr.; parents, Verrill Sr. and Erma Worcester; brothers, Verrill Jr. "Sonny", Dwight, and David; and sister, Joyce Hilliard.

Cassie was born and raised in Maine and loved to return home in the summer to spend time with family.  In Michigan, she became a much loved member of the Hardwick family and enjoyed spending as much time as possible with them.  Cassie was a stay at home mom for many years and then went to work for the State of Michigan.  She was an avid bowler and enjoyed crocheting and knitting in her free time.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church on Monday, June 5, 2023 at 10:30 AM with Father Timothy MacDonald officiating. A private interment will take place at St. John Catholic Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Sunday, June 4 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM with a Rosary Service at 7:00 PM.

Instead of sending flowers, a memorial donation may be made to the Lingap Children's Foundation, where Cassie and James were longtime supporters.
