Age 81, passed from her family’s arms to our loving Saviors arms on May 17, 2026 at Henry Ford Hospice Home. Carol was born on August 4,1944 in Glenridge, New Jersey to her parents the late H.B and Margaret Seiler Hardwick. The family moved to Jackson, Michigan when Carol was 3 years old. Carol is survived by her children 4 loving children, Margaret Millican, Amy Rodgers, David A. (Kathryn) West and Elizabeth (David) Sandy; her grandchildren whom she adored, Christopher Millican, Alexander (Minori) Rodgers, and JP West, along with her only great grandchild Riley Rodgers.
Carol is also survived by her devoted-twin brother Charles (Louann) Hardwick; sister, Catherine (Peter) Weise; brother, William (Janice) Hardwick; loving brother and sister-in-law Robert and Mary West; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was greeted in Heaven by her love of her life, John West; wonderful son-in-law. Rohn Millican Jr; and several brothers and sisters, Jack, Margaret, Bob, Mary and Jim.
Carol was a honorary Mom and Nana to many children and their children. She worked at ITT Hancock during her early years followed by her greatest joy which was working for Gramer’s Chocolates for over 25 years and continuing to share her talent making chocolates as a hobby. She enjoyed music from the 50’s and 60’s with the Beatles being her favorite. She enjoyed her collie dogs over the years, and then her Maltese, Jessie Jo who was her emotional support pup through out the last couple of years.
Carol loved games, especially playing with her grandchildren, who often tried to challenge her, though she usually won. She loved being with her family and friends, and was a member of Queen of the Miraculous Medal Church.
Carol is at the Desnoyer Funeral Home where a Prayer Service will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2026 at 10:00 AM followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church with Father Timothy MacDonald and Deacon Pat Gorzcya officiating. The Funeral Mass will be livestreamed on Queen of the Miraculous Medal's Facebook Page. Cremation will follow and an inurnment will be held at a later date at St. John Catholic Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 20 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM with sharing of memories beginning at 6:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Henry Ford Hospice Home. Thank you to all who lead her on her final journey.
