Carol E. Posey

The Posey family regrets to announce the passing of our loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Carol E. Posey, 81, of Jackson, MI, formerly of Albion, MI. Carol passed unexpectedly in her home on April 15, 2020.

Carol was born September 27, 1938 to Leo and Leola Derhammer, in Marshall, MI. She met her loving husband Jerry D. Posey and the two were married March 8, 1958. They settled in Albion, MI where they raised their family of four children.

Carol is survived by her husband of 62 years, Jerry D. Posey, her sister Erma Piske, her children Jerri K. Ries, Randy Posey (Kathy), Kathy D. Samara, and Karen Newman (Daniel), as well as 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and several adopted and step grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Carol was an amazing, hardworking, and kindhearted woman, both in her work and in the home. She was also a devoted wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She enjoyed holidays and special gatherings of family, friends, and even strangers that needed a good home cooked meal.

Cremation has taken place per her wishes. Due to the circumstances of COVID-19, a celebration of Carol's life will take place at a later date. Our family finds comfort in knowing that Carol will once more be in the loving company of her parents, her brother, and her sister.
