LaMarre (Sarata), Carol Ann
83, of Jackson, MI, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer on November 8, 2023. Carol is survived by her children Kevin (Mary Anne) LaMarre, Kimberly (Mike) Jurist, Renee (Scott) Carstens, and Roger Patrick (Melissa) LaMarre; daughter-in-law Jodie LaMarre; grandchildren Ryan (Whitney) and Lindsey LaMarre, Shannon (Jojo) Kennedy, Zachary (Kelsey), Jared (Ericka), and Aaron Jurist, Kayla, Cody, and Casey Carstens, Katelyn and Kara LaMarre, and Noah and Sidney LaMarre; great grandchildren Maxwell and Samson Jurist, Ted and Lucas LaMarre, Luca Jurist, and Shae Kennedy; siblings Jacqueline (Dennis) Angel, Mary (Kurt) Nichols, and Gerald Sarata; sister-in-laws Sheri Sarata, Lorrie Adler, Mary Lou (Ted) Miller, and Sue LaMarre; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years Roger Roland LaMarre, Jr.; son Robert LaMarre; parents George and Dorothy Sarata; and siblings Margaret, James, and Douglas.
Carol was a lifelong resident of Jackson who graduated from St. Mary's Catholic School in 1958 and retired from Queen of the Miraculous Medal School after 25+ years. She was a member of Queen of the Miraculous Medal Church and the St. Vincent de Paul Circle. Carol had a passion for cooking and looked forward to the holidays and preparing feasts for her family. She loved watching her children and later her grandchildren participate in their many activities. She enjoyed her annual trips to Florida with her family. Carol loved the summer months where she was able to spend time on the lake, walking through the Cascades, and golfing with her many friends.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church with Father Timothy MacDonald officiating.
Visitation will be at Desnoyer Funeral Home on Friday, November 10 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM with Rosary Service at 7:00 PM. The family will also receive friends at the Church on Saturday, November 11 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.
