Johnson, Buddy Gene "Jay"
of Jackson, passed away at home peacefully on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at the age of 47 years. He is survived by his children, Chelicie, Brittney, Austin, Devon, Rylee, and Kastarra; grandchildren, Gabriella, Adrian, Jayden, Isabella, Amariana, My'Risa, Elena, Damaian, Lillyana, and Jaxton; siblings, Patti (Gary) Martin, Angel Johnson (Max), Tommy (Amanda) Boyd, Billy (Vickie) Johnson, and Jeffrey (Angela) Boyd; step-father, Otto Boyd; special nephews, Teddy, Nathain, Alex, Jeremiah, and Logan; special niece, Alex V.; special great nieces and nephews, Miha, Austin, Kyson, Caden, Adelyn, and Colt; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Estel "Buddy" Johnson; mother, Kristine Boyd; brother, Timmy Johnson; and sister, Barbara Bishop.
Jay loved spending time with his family, car rides, country music, gardening, and mowing the lawn. He enjoyed vacations and enjoyed going to Maine and New York. His great nieces and nephews always enjoyed watching movies with their Uncle Jay. Jay was an avid NASCAR fan and his favorite driver was Martin Truex Jr. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.
Funeral Services for Jay will be held at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Sunday, December 12, 2021 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Ray Torres officiating. For those that cannot attend the Funeral Service, it will be live streamed on Zoom (Meeting ID: 204 505 3737 and Passcode: Jay). Interment will be held at Pulaski Cemetery on Monday, December 13 at 12:00 Noon.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 12:00 Noon until 1:00 PM.
Instead of sending flowers, contributions to the American Lung Association would be appreciated.
