Brooke Elizabeth Newman

Brooke Elizabeth Newman, age 23, of Jackson, Michigan, passed away on Saturday, August 10, 2024. She was born on November 9, 2000 in Jackson. Brooke was a beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, and friend.

Brooke graduated from Lumen Christi Catholic High School in 2018. She went on to attend Brighton Institute of Cosmetology where she became a licensed esthetician and was working as a CNA while attending Nursing School. She received her Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) posthumously on August 12, 2024 from Dorsey College of Nursing. Brooke was known for her huge heart, her loyalty, her sense of humor, and her fierce independence.

Her memory will live on through her father, Daniel Newman; mother, Karen Newman; sisters, Baylie (Jason) Martin and Blake (Tyler) Gillig; grandfather, Jerald D. Posey; and her many close friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Daniel J. Newman, Gerada V. Newman and Carol E. Posey, and her beloved childhood dog, Bella.

Cremation has taken place.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church with Father Timothy MacDonald officiating.

The family will receive friends at Queen's Church on Saturday, August 17 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to the Social Work and Activities department at Jackson County Medical Care Facility, where Brooke worked.
