Hackett, Brian Keith
Of Jackson, passed away on January 1, 2024 at the age of 61. Survived by his wife of 35 years, Marsha; children, Brian (Chelsea) Hackett, Ben Hackett, and Sarah (Ross) Cornell; granddaughter, Chloe Hackett; his mother, Maria Hackett; mother-in-law, Isobelle Furey; siblings, William (Karen) Hackett, Deborah (Thomas) Kline, and Bruce (Mary Ann) Hackett; sisters-in-law, Kathy (Chuck) Coaker, Patrice Furey, Barbara Stewart, Sheila Clissold, and Laura Furey; brother-in-law, John (Kathy) Furey; and an abundance of cousins, many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his father, Donald Keith Hackett; father-in-law, Kyle Furey; numerous aunts and uncles; as well as his grandparents.
Brian was born in Jackson, Michigan and was a 1980 Lumen Christi Catholic High School graduate. He attended the University of Dayton. Brian worked in retail his entire life, retiring from Ace Hardware in 2021 after more than 25 years.
Brian was a beloved husband, father, uncle, grandfather, brother and son. He will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a truly generous spirit. Brian always had a smile on his face and a joke to share. He especially loved spending time with his children and new granddaughter.
Brian was an avid sports fan of the Detroit Lions, Miami Dolphins, and Notre Dame football. He could often be found listening to classic rock music, particularly Bob Seger.
Brian is at the Desnoyer Funeral Home where a Prayer Service will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at 9:30 AM followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church at 10:00 AM with Father Tyler Arens officiating. Cremation will follow the Funeral Mass.
The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Friday, January 5 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 to 8:00 PM with a Rosary Service at 6:30 PM with Sharing of Memories after the Rosary.
