Age 81, of Jackson, Michigan, passed away on Tuesday, January 28th, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.  Betty was the daughter of David and Elizabeth McConnell (Coleman), born August 31, 1943, in Dayton, Ohio.  Betty is survived by her children, Mike (Laura) Tomlin, Norm (Debra) Tomlin, and Judy (Matt) Heins; grandchildren, Matthew Tomlin, Sean (Sasha) Tomlin, Alicia Tomlin, and Patrick Heins; and sisters, Shirley (Bill) Helke and Kay Bullock.  Betty also leaves behind her beloved kitties, Donnie and Mikey, as well as her other furry grandchildren, Phil (cat), Guinness (dog), Tobin (dog), and Izzy (dog).  Although Betty was divorced from her husband, Michael Tomlin, they remained close, and he always supported her.  Betty was preceded in death by her parents, David and Elizabeth McConnell and her sister, Jeanne Kirby.  She was also preceded in death by several of her beloved cats and dogs (and grand dogs and cats), whom she cherished and loved dearly.

Betty graduated from Farmington High School in 1961. She attended the University of Michigan and, later in life, Oakland Community College. She held a few different jobs, but most importantly, she raised her kids and ran the day-to-day operations of the family beef farm and gardens.  Betty loved being outdoors and gardening. She was an avid bird and animal lover. She was the most selfless person one could meet. She adored all of her children, grandchildren, and dogs and cats.

She was a fantastic momma to us and will be missed every day.

According to her wishes, cremation has taken place.  No services will be held at this time.

Contributions in Betty's name to The Dahlem Environmental Education Center or the Cascades Humane Society would be appreciated.
