Bernadette "Sittie" Ellis

Of Jackson, Michigan passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on July 28, 2016 at age 93 1/2. She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Joseph Simon Ellis, four sisters and two brothers. Bernadette is survived by one daughter Cecelia, and three sons Dr. Paul ( Sandra), Greg ( Portia) and Robert ( Susan) ,10 grandchildren Nicholas, Kara, Scott, Jessica, Joseph, Erica, Carmen, Sadie, Michael and Matthew and 9 great grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews. She adored spending time with family and especially her grandchildren, more than anything on this earth. She also loved cooking and over fed everyone who visited her. Bernadette enjoyed playing bridge and euchre with her friends, and going to the casino with anyone who would take her. She retired from Foote Hospital as a respiratory therapist after many years of outstanding service.

Bernadette was a lifelong member of Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church where the Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, August 1 at 10:30 am with Father Timothy MacDonald officiating. There will be a private interment service at St. John's Cemetery at a later date.

Visitations will be at Desnoyer Funeral Home Jackson, Michigan on Sunday, July 31 from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm with a Rosary at 7 pm and at Queens Church Monday, August 1 from 10 am to 10:30 am before funeral services.

Instead of flowers, contributions in her name to Queen's School or Church would be appreciated.
